Jesse Frechette, LCSW is the founder and director of Center Mindful, a mindfulness studio (now virtual). He is a licensed clinical social worker with a Master’s in Social Work from University of Pennsylvania.
Jesse is a mindfulness educator, mindfulness coach, facilitator, and mindfulness-based psychotherapist who completed a year-long Mindful Educator Certification Program through Mindful Schools, and has received additional mindfulness training in the following: Inner Strength Foundation’s “Mindfulness & Cultural Development,” “Learning to Breathe,” MindBodySpirit Corporate Wellness Program, and “Mindfulness for Student Athletes.”
Jesse teaches, coaches, and facilitates mindfulness through Center Mindful, in schools and universities, organizations, and health fairs. He has worked with at-risk and diverse populations over 25 years of social work and psychotherapy experience including hospital, foster care, schools (both public and private including 18 years in the inner-city Philadelphia catholic schools), and private practice settings.
Jesse has been a formal mindfulness practitioner for 12 years, and has taught school-wide mindfulness (including in classrooms, assemblies, and for teachers/staff and parents) at E.M. Crouthamel Elementary school in Souderton for the past three years, a junior class at Central High School in the fall of 2019, Gwynned Mercy Academy Elementary School (assemblies, teacher PD, parent presentation and in all classrooms for grades 5-8) the past 2 years, Saint Martin of Tours Elementary School school-wide from 2015 to 2018, and has provided professional development for teachers at the aforementioned schools, as well as Houston Elementary in Mt. Airy, Maritime Academy Charter School in Philadelphia, St. Aloysius Academy in Bryn Mawr (included Sacred Heart Academy staff also), St. Katherine of Siena Elementary School in Philadelphia, and Unitarian Society of Germantown. Additionally, Jesse has provided mindfulness classes to the staff of the Women’s Center of Montgomery County, healthcare students in TempleCares Program and the Gender and Sexuality Alliance Program students from Sandy Run Middle School and Upper Dublin High School.
Jesse is passionate about supporting teachers and students, healthcare professionals, parents, athletes, and diverse and marginalized individuals and communities both through Center Mindful and through mindful life coaching, psychotherapy, workshops, groups and presentations in schools and other work places, and in communities.
Jesse also hosts an ongoing drop-in mindfulness teaching and guided practice class every Thursday night from 7:15-8:15pm appropriate for adults and high school age or older students, as well as providing a Facebook Live half hour guided Mindfulness practice weekdays at 9:00am and 9:00pm on his Jesse Frechette Facebook page.
His favorite topics to teach are Mindfulness in Schools, Mindful Self-Compassion, Mindfulness for Chronic Pain, Mindful Arts, Mindfulness for Athletes, Intro. to Mindfulness, Mindfulness of Privilege, Diversity, and Inclusion, and Mindfully Coping with Microaggressions.
Jesse also enjoys coaching teens, college students of all ages, and adults in mindfulness both in person and through video Zoom sessions. Jesse is committed to collaboration, diversity and inclusion, and supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and families, POC, women, and other individuals and communities that experience prejudice, discrimination, and micro-aggressions.
